  1. Apr 13,  · The beginning track “Just Like A Stone” sets the relaxed flute and organ dominated sound that sets the mood of the entire album. The rest of the album follows suit with interesting interplay between the wind instruments, the piano/organ, guitars and bass with occasional vibes. Great riffs, excellent melodies and sizzling solos/5(22).

He performs regularly at The Piano, Kensington High St." "Dave formed his own band Turbo in the 70s and now lives in Cornwall." 6. Der Akustik-Blues "Rollin' Stone" von Muddy Waters, vom Trio Johnny Jenkins, Duane Allman und Berry Oakley eingespielt, sticht ebenfalls hervor. "Ton-Ton Macoute!" ist ein durchgängig gutes Album, und auch die beiden Bonus-Tracks fallen nicht ab, - für mich ist die Otis Rush-Komposition "My Love Will Never Die" ein weiterer Höhepunkt des Albums/5(43).

  8. "Just Like Stone" is to Tonton Macoute what "Alone In Georgia" is to the Gravy Train album mentioned. Both have that American vibe going on, perhaps a bit of gospel and southern rock, which might not to be to everyone's liking. Not my favorite, but I really love how the album quickly improves.
  9. Sep 23,  · Bucolic notes and a taste of Zep circa '69 for 'Just Like Stone', a perfectly nice vocal number from keyboardist Paul French and windman Dave Knowles. Blues-jazz 'Don't Make Me Cry' has some surprises at nine minutes (these guys can play), and eastern chimes open 'Flying South in Winter' with strong flavors of Bo Hansson from French's.
